Privacy policy

Effective date: October 17, 2026

1. About this policy

MAGDOR operates magdor.ca and is responsible for the personal information it collects through its website, sales, appointments and customer communications.

This policy explains what information we collect, why we use it, when we share it and how you can exercise your privacy rights.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your interactions with us, we may collect:

  • Contact details, including your name, email address, telephone number, billing address and delivery address.
  • Order and service information, including purchases, returns, repairs, warranty requests and correspondence.
  • Information you provide for appointments, quotations, custom jewellery or engraving.
  • Account information and your communication preferences.
  • Payment-related information, including payment status and transaction references. Online payments are processed through Shopify Payments.
  • Technical information, including your IP address, browser, device information and interactions with our website. Collection through optional cookies and similar technologies depends on your consent and applicable requirements.

We receive information directly from you, through your use of our services, and from providers involved in payments, delivery and other services you request.

3. Why we use your information

We use personal information as necessary to:

  • Process payments, fulfil orders and arrange delivery.
  • Manage appointments, enquiries, custom work, returns, repairs and warranties.
  • Communicate with you about your purchases and requested services.
  • Operate, secure and improve our website and business.
  • Detect fraud, resolve disputes and meet legal and accounting obligations.
  • Send promotional emails or SMS messages where we have the consent or other authorization required by law.
  • Measure website use and personalize experiences where permitted by your choices and applicable law.

Some information is necessary to provide a requested service. If you choose not to provide it, we may be unable to complete that service.

4. Service providers and other disclosures

We share information where necessary with providers that support our business, including Shopify, payment processors, delivery companies, appointment-booking providers, retail-management systems, email and SMS providers, and professional or technical service providers.

Authorized staff and service providers receive access appropriate to their responsibilities.

Messages sent to info@magdor.ca are routed through Cloudflare Email Routing to our Gmail inbox. These providers process information involved in delivering and storing your correspondence.

We may also disclose information where required or permitted by law, to protect rights and security, or in connection with a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

5. Shopify and Network Intelligence

Our online store is hosted by Shopify. Shopify processes information to provide services such as checkout, payments, security and store operation.

Shopify Network Intelligence is currently enabled. Shopify may combine information from interactions with our store with information from interactions with other merchants and Shopify to support enhanced services, including personalization, analytics and advertising.

Shopify may process information for its own purposes as described in its Consumer Privacy Policy. You can also consult Shopify’s Privacy Portal for information about its privacy controls and rights.

6. Cookies and privacy choices

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. Some support essential functions, such as security, shopping carts and checkout. Others support analytics, personalization or marketing.

Our cookie banner lets you accept, decline or manage optional categories. Declining optional categories does not prevent you from shopping, although some optional features may be unavailable.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may affect website functionality.

Cookie choices are separate from email and SMS marketing preferences.

7. Email and SMS

Where we send promotional messages, we do so in accordance with applicable consent requirements.

You can unsubscribe using the instructions in a message or contact us at info@magdor.ca. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary communications about orders, appointments or services.

8. Processing outside Québec and Canada

Our providers may process or store information outside Québec and Canada. Shopify’s hosting location shown in our store settings is the United States.

Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to its laws and lawful access by authorities. Where required, we assess transfers and apply appropriate contractual and other safeguards.

9. Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy and applicable legal obligations.

Retention depends on the information and its purpose, including order fulfilment, accounting, warranties, consent records and dispute resolution. Some information may need to be retained after a deletion request.

When information is no longer required, we arrange for its secure destruction or lawful anonymization, subject to applicable requirements.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Please avoid sending payment-card details or unnecessary sensitive information by email.

11. Your rights and complaints

Depending on applicable law, you may request access to or correction of your personal information, withdraw consent, request deletion where applicable, or request an eligible portable copy.

To make a request or raise a concern, contact our Privacy Officer using the details below. We may need to verify your identity. We respond within applicable legal deadlines, including the 30-day deadline applicable to Québec access and correction requests.

Withdrawal of consent may affect services that require the information. Certain legal exceptions may limit a request.

You may also contact the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec or another competent privacy authority.

12. Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, practices or legal obligations. We will publish the revised version and its effective date, and provide additional notice where required.
